Ultrasound Photos 23 March 2004 Today we had a major ultrasound done at the University Hospital in Denver. They spent about 45 minutes looking at almost every aspect of the child taking measurements and checking that everything was developing properly. Apart from rather large ears and feet, the baby seems to be doing very well. Ok, I know that everyone wants to know whether we found out whether it is a boy or a girl. The technicians said that it can often be difficult to tell, but despite the baby's constant squirming, they were able to determine its gender in just a few minutes. It appears that we have a lively little boy on the way. Here is one of the ultrasound photos they took for us. I'm not really into fuzzy black and white photography, but they managed to catch a good pose with this shot. Apparently, the baby has already developed some bad habits as he is already sucking his thumb.
Your next obvious question is what is the child's name. We don't know and even if we did know, we probably wouldn't tell you yet. Joanna's 5 year-old niece, Caitlin, has decided that if it is a boy that his name should be "Charlie Bailey" and so we are sticking with that name for now. Thanks for your prayers for all three of us during this exciting time. Erik and Jo
